In 1982 I found a pair of wooden shoe forms in an antique shop on Vancouver Island and it remained as part of my living room decor for 40 years. I decided to alter them but thought it best to order some used ones to practice on first. That led to a series all based on lyrics (which my 2016 show was entirely based on). In the end, my original pair stayed in its present form as I could never bring myself to alter its naturally distressed, organic yet elegant form.
